Proprioception System (Spatial Awareness)

As a child learns to move, they begin to become aware of their body parts, where their body is in relation to the physical environment around them, and what their body looks like. When a child has opportunities to move in a variety of environments they learn about spatial awareness. These tamariki are often sedentary, fall off chairs-out of bed, bump into others, trip and fall and are hesitant to join in to running games and act out suddenly.
